Sister Sister as Tipp face Offaly

OFFALY v TIPPERARY

Saturday 19th February

Throw-in @ 2.00pm

Tipperary will look to continue their winning start to Division 1 of the National Camogie League when they travel to take on Offaly on Saturday.

Having had an impressive victory over Down in the opening round, Bill Mullaney will be hoping his side can make it two wins from two and pick up all three points on offer against their near neighbours.

Tipperary met Offaly twice last year in both the league and championship with the premier side having the upper hand on both occasions.

In their opening round win against Down, Tipperary were without many of their regulars allowing the management team to give game time to new members of the panel. Claire Hogan impressed on her senior debut while Casey Hennessy, Karin Blair and Sarah Delaney were also standout performers.

Indeed, this Saturday’s game will see a rather unique scenario where two sisters will be on opposite teams. Tipperary panellist Ciara Brennan, who plays for the St Cillian’s club which is located in the Carrig/Riverstown area on the Tipperary/Offaly border, and who plays in the Offaly championship, will come up against her sister Aisling who lines out for Offaly.

They aren’t the only link with the St Cillian’s club as Clare Hogan on the Tipp panel and Siobhan Killeen in the Offaly squad. It isn’t the only split club loyaly as Moneygall has Mary Ryan on the Tipp panel and Mairead Teehan, Catriona Doughan and Edwina King on the Offaly squad.
