Nenagh rue missed chances to upset Annacarty
County Senior Camogie Championship Quarter Final
Annacarty 3-17
Nenagh Eire Og 1-8
Nenagh Eire Og gave Annacarty plenty to think about but ultimately fell away in the second half of this County Senior Camogie Championship quarter final in Annacarty on Saturday.
This game was very close in the first half with only one score between the sides at half-time. If fact a good save from Annacarty goalie Aoife Butler denied Grace O’Brien an equalising goal just before the break.
An early Jean Kelly goal for Annacarty, while playing against the breeze, got them in front after Nenagh delayed clearing their lines.
Nenagh had their chances in the first half and were unlucky not to convert two golden goal chances. Had these been taken, an upset might have been on the cards. As it was, apart from the goal, it was score for score in the first half. But a poor third quarter led to Annacarty pushing ahead and despite some heroic Nenagh performances, Annacarty proved to be too strong and ran out comfortable winners.
