Junior ‘A’ Football Championship: In the North Junior ‘A’ Football semi-final, Portroe will host Newport at 4.00pm this Saturday 23rd October with the winner progressing to take on Ballina in the final.
Junior ‘B’ Football Championship: Nenagh Eire Og had a 2-8 to 2-5 victory over Silvermines last Sunday in the North semi-final. The final will take place this Saturday at 3.00pm in Borrisokane with Nenagh Eire Og facing Shannon Rovers.
Junior ‘C’ Hurling Championship: The group stages of the North Junior ‘C’ Championship concluded last Sunday. Kilruane MacDonaghs edged out Ballina 2-13 to 1-15 whilst Borris-Ileigh were unable to field so Roscrea received a walkover. Kiladangan and Roscrea finished with six points each with Kiladangan topping the group on head to head. Ballina came third with four points, Kilruane fourth with three point whilst Borris-Ileigh failed to progress to the semi-finals having finished fifth with one point.
Kiladangan and Roscrea will have home advantage for the semi-final’s. Kiladangan will host Kilruane MacDonaghs in Puckane this Sunday 24th October at 1.00 pm. A week later, on Sunday 31st October, Roscrea will host Ballina with a 12 noon throw in.
The Final will take place on the weekend of 6th/7th November.
Under 19 Football: Congratulations to Newport who claimed the North U19 ‘B’ Football title after an exciting win over Borrisokane last Wednesday in Ballingarry. The game finished level on a 4-12 to 5-9 scoreline after extra time so the game went to penalties where Newport were victorious on a 5-3 scoreline.
Under 15: Hard luck to Roscrea who lost out to Mullinahone at the weekend on a 3-6 to 2-12 scoreline in the County Under 15 ‘A’ Hurling Semi Final.
This Saturday 23rd, Moneygall Clonakenny will play Gortnahoe/Glengoole in the County Under 15 ‘B’ Hurling Final. Moneygall Clonakenny defeated Ballingarry 1-14 to 1-13 last Saturday semi-final.
