North Tipperary GAA Affairs

Intermediate Hurling Championship: Well done to Moneygall who claimed the Fr Hewitt Cup last Saturday after a 4-19 to 3-17 win over Borrisokane in the Savvy Kitchens North Intermediate Final. Eoin Whyte was the victorious Moneygall captain who claimed their sixth North Intermediate Hurling title.

Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship: Nenagh Eire Og maintained top spot in the group stages of The Watch Centre sponsored North Junior ‘A’ Hurling championship after a 2-18 to 1-12 victory over Borris-Ileigh. Roscrea and Toomevara faced off on Monday 6th September, see GAA Scoreboard for result.

The fifth and final round of games will take place on Saturday 18th September.

Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship: In Group 1, Silvermines secured top spot after a 2-19 to 1-13 win over Burgess whilst Portroe and Newport drew 0-16 to 1-13. Newport, Portroe and Lorrha are all in with a chance of securing second place The final round of games take place next Friday at 6.15pm; Newport host Lorrha whilst Burgess host Portroe.

Group 2 placing’s have been confirmed with Ballina topping the group and Kiladangan second. Ballina had a 1-20 to 1-11 win over Nenagh Eire Og and Kiladangan defeated Templederry Kenyons, 2-19 to 1-14.

Borrisokane secured top spot in Group 3 after a 0-10 to 0-7 victory over Knockshegowna last Friday. Knockshe also progress to the knockout stages after securing second place in the group. In the remaining group game, Shannon Rovers took on Moneygall on Monday evening, see GAA Scoreboard for result.

2 out of the 3 top placed teams will be drawn straight into the semi-finals. The remaining top placed team will join the three second place teams in the quarter finals

Junior ‘C’ Hurling Championship: The second round of the North Junior ‘C’ Hurling Championship took place last Sunday. Kiladangan had a 1-14 to 1-13 win over Kilruane MacDonaghs in Cloughjordan whilst Roscrea had a 1-21 to 2-9 win at home to Ballina.

The third round of games will take place this Sunday 12th September with 11.00am throw-in’s. Ballina will host Kilruane MacDonaghs whilst Kiladangan will host Borris-Ileigh.

Under 19 Hurling: Congratulations to Ballinahinch/Templederry who claimed the North U19 ‘B’ Hurling title last Wednesday in Moneygall after an exciting 3-15 to 2-16 victory over Borrisokane. Karl Kelly was the victorious Ballinahinch/Templederry captain.
