Templemore Athletic Club launches new Online Lotto
Like so many community organisations and Sports Clubs throughout the country, Templemore Athletic Club has suffered financially throughout 2020 and 2021 because of the Covid 19 Pandemic.
However, in an effort to regain some of those losses, Templemore Athletic Club will be the first Athletic Club to start a lotto online. This will be run by Smart Lotto, a specialist in online fundraising. It also ensures social distancing and the comfort of doing Smart Lotto from your own home.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the club were unable to generate revenue from the usual sources such as: Church Gate Collections; Annual Draw, Bag Packing, Track Hire Income, Sponsorship, Disco, Track usage fees and little or no Membership fees
In 2020 lost income came to €85,000 and so far in 2021 have suffered a further loss of €20,000. To date the Club has used its savings to cover these losses. But now the Club faces into an uncertain future and with an online lotto due to start in the near future. The club were asked by its trustees and governing body Athletics Ireland to become creative and to use modern technology to raise funds on the Town Park facility which has seen €2.5 million spent on the Athletic Complex since 1980. The Athletic Track remains open for use within H.S.E. Athletic Ireland Guidelines.
How to join
- Supporters can pay by Debit Card or Credit Card, or with cash, phone 087 2096356 and leave a message and a Club Official will return a call within 24 hours.
- Log into Smartlotto.ie, enter Templemore Athletic Club. Choose four numbers between 1 and 40 and follow instructions to pay. The Jackpot starts at €4,000. Match 3 numbers will share in €100 if Jackpot is not won.
The Lotto costs €2 per week, or 3 lines for €5. Any person may pay €10 for 5 weeks or €20 for 10 weeks etc. Apart for the weekly 3 lines for €5 we are offering the following discounts: 1 line for 26 draws at €50, 1 line for 52 draws at €90, 3 lines for 52 draws at €250
Organisers will text or email when the cash runs out, so that you may make a payment online that day for the next draw.
If you have supported the clubs Church Gate Collections, Annual Draw or an Athletic Track user or a Club Member this new method of fundraising will enable Templemore AC to maintain its link with the public in these difficult times.
