Kiladangan’s dreams of winning their first County Minor 'A' Hurling title lay in tatters following a fifteen point defeat at the hands of a talented Drom & Inch side in a one-sided final on Saturday afternoon.

Apart from a good opening twenty minutes, the North champions were outscored 1-19 to 1-2 in a devastating last forty minutes by a Drom & Inch side hungry for their second ever title, adding this to their only previous success in 1998.

Kiladangan impressed in their divisional campaign which was completed by a good win over Toomevara in the North final. Their county semi-final win over Mullinahone was also noteworthy but last Saturday they came up against a more composed Drom & Inch side who had plenty talent on view, including three players on this year’s Tipperary minor team and one from the 2018 side and as a result the Mid champions powered their way through the second quarter by scoring eight unanswered points which helped secure a 0-11 to 0-5 half time lead.

That breathing space helped the Mid men stay clear of any threat from Kiladangan in the third quarter and once Jimmy Mullen scored a goal in the 50th minute there was never any doubt about the destination of the Sean Treacy Cup.
