Promoting Reuse Month

October is National Reuse Month and Tipperary County Council are involved in promoting this initiative.

We are asking that people embrace Reuse Month by prioritising repair, buying second hand, upcycling, borrowing, swapping and refilling.
We have also been busy organising events in connection with this.

Recently, the council's Environment and Climate Action section facilitated a presentation and workshop delivered by Aileen Hogan of Shabby.ie at Saint Mary's Secondary School in Newport.

The Transition Year students of the school learned how to upcycle and repurpose old and unloved pieces of furniture and were given ideas on how they could upcycle various old and tired items that they may have around the house or in their bedrooms at home.
