Tipperary's aspirations of reaching the Munster minor hurling final were dealt a crushing blow following a final quarter capitulation to Waterford in Sunday's round 3 clash.

Waterford produced a stunning fightback of epic proportions to claim victory over a Tipp side who led by 3-9 to 0-8 with 48 minutes elapsed.

The Premier cubs appeared certain to notch up their second win of the championship but somehow managed to squander a seemingly unassailable lead to gift the Deise the most unlikeliest of victories.

Waterford hit 2-5 without reply in the final quarter to secure their first victory in the championship but it was the nature of Tipp’s collapse which had many supporters struggling to comprehend just what had transpired.
