Ibec urges members to sign up for National Workplace Wellbeing Day
Ibec is launching its 6th National Workplace Wellbeing Day which will be held on May 1st and we are calling on all our members to sign up and participate.
National Workplace Wellbeing Day, which was launched by Ibec in 2015, sees companies across Ireland celebrate the occasion with a range of health and wellbeing activities in the workplace. Up to 1,000 companies participated last year.
However, never did we imagine that such a programme would have more relevance than it does this year. National Workplace Wellbeing Day 2020 takes place in an environment in which workplaces across Ireland have been utterly transformed due to the need for restrictions in movement, social distancing and the publication of the Essential Business list.
By participating in the day, employers can connect in with their staff and send a strong public message that their wellbeing is paramount, particularly at this time.
In recognition of these new workplace arrangements, this year’s day will employ an additional hashtag #TogetherApart to operate alongside #WorkWell20. We ask businesses to showcase their activities on social media using these two hashtags, in keeping with the spirit of common cause being adopted nationally and globally to fight the pandemic. Sample activities for National Workplace Wellbeing Day 2020 include:
ï‚· Online meditation and fitness sessions such as yoga / pilates
ï‚· Virtual connect session including team lunches, water cooler moments
ï‚· Online briefings and live Q&A sessions with wellbeing practitioners
ï‚· Team building activities such as baking, cooking, fitness
ï‚· Online access to medical, counseling and nutrition advice
Sign up on our website, follow us on Twitter @wellbeingdayIRL and highlight your own workplace wellbeing activities in the run up to and on National Workplace Wellbeing Day.
Together we can make this the largest celebration of workplace wellbeing in Ireland.
