Fundraising for two very worthy causes

Christmas Tractors Nenagh is set to bring festive cheer to North Tipperary this December, with a spectacular display of illuminated tractors raising funds for two very worthy local causes.

The event, organised by Christmas Tractors Nenagh (CTN), will take place on Saturday, December 19, departing from Barack Obama Plaza at 5pm, with proceeds going towards supporting Billy Goulding and Nenagh Special Summer Camp.

The Christmas Tractor Run will see tractors decorated with colourful Christmas lights taking to the roads, creating a festive spectacle for families and communities while raising much-needed funds for both beneficiaries.

Event launched at Barack Obama Plaza

The event was officially launched at Barack Obama Plaza, where organisers, representatives of the two causes and supporters gathered to encourage the public to get behind the initiative.

Pat McDonagh, Managing Director of Supermac’s and Barack Obama Plaza, welcomed the initiative.

“Christmas is a time when communities come together, and this event is a wonderful example of that spirit. The organisers are putting a tremendous amount of work into raising funds for Billy and Nenagh Special Summer Camp.

“We are delighted to support the initiative at Barack Obama Plaza. Events like this demonstrate the generosity and community spirit that exists throughout North Tipperary, and I would encourage everyone to support the fundraising efforts and come along to enjoy what promises to be a fantastic spectacle on December 19.”

Albert Purcell of Christmas Tractors Nenagh said the organisers were looking forward to another memorable Christmas event.

“This is all about bringing people together at Christmas and doing something positive for two very deserving causes. We are looking forward to seeing the tractors lit up and getting as many people as possible involved.

“The tractor run and the holiday raffle are great ways for people to support the fundraising effort, and we hope the local community will get behind both.”

Funds raised for two beneficaries

The two beneficiaries are at the heart of this year’s fundraising campaign.

Nenagh Special Summer Camp is a non-profit organisation providing summer camp activities for children and young adults with additional and special needs. Operating under the motto “Help Our Children Play”, the organisation provides opportunities for participants to enjoy recreational activities, social interaction and the experience of summer camp in a supportive environment.

Billy Goulding, whose journey has been documented through the Facebook community page Billy’s Recovery Story, is the second beneficiary. Billy’s story has attracted considerable public support, and the Christmas Tractor Run will help raise additional funds on his behalf.

Raffle for €5000 holiday voucher

As part of the fundraising campaign, organisers have also launched a raffle offering a €5,000 dream holiday of the winner’s choice.

Tickets cost €10 and are available through the iDonate fundraising platform, with proceeds supporting both Billy Goulding and Nenagh Special Summer Camp. The raffle will continue in the lead-up to the Christmas event, providing an additional opportunity for people to contribute to the fundraising effort.

The organisers are encouraging local businesses, community groups and members of the public to support the fundraising activities and help make this year’s event a success.
