Views of Italy in Nenagh Library
Visitors to Nenagh Library this October are invited to see the magnificent country of Italy through a different lens, as local photographer, Antonella Barisone, presents her exhibition, ‘Views of Italy’.
Running from October 5 to 31, with its launch on Tuesday, October 13, from 5.30 to 8pm at the library, ‘Views of Italy’, Antonella's first Irish exhibition, is focused on Italy's lesser known locations, as seen from different perspectives. Bringing together a collection of photos taken across Central and Northern Italy, this exhibition offers a glimpse of the country beyond its most famous destinations.
Antonella, a software engineer based in Nenagh, has developed photography as a personal and creative passion, pursuing it during her travels and in her everyday life. For her, photography is much more than simply taking a picture. It is an opportunity to slow down and observe the world around her.
Through her images, Antonella invites viewers to observe and imagine the moment when each photograph was taken, the surrounding environment, the atmosphere of the place and the sensations experienced in that very moment.
Predominantly working with landscapes, she has married her twin passions of photography and travelling, and this stunning exhibition is the result. ‘Views of Italy’ is an invitation to discover a different Italy with unexpected perspectives and fleeting moments captured through the eyes of an Italian photographer who knows the country intimately.
