Exploring consciousness and personal growth
Nenagh Arts Centre will welcome acclaimed psychotherapist and Jungian analyst Brendan Harding back again for two thought-provoking evenings exploring consciousness and the deeper patterns that shape our lives on Wednesday and Thursday, September 9 and 10, at 7.30pm.
The two part series, 'Becoming Conscious' and 'Becoming Conscious: Going Deeper', draws on Brendan’s remarkable career spanning medicine, psychotherapy and Jungian practice. Across two evenings, he will invite audiences to reflect on personal insight, awareness, healing and the search for a more conscious and meaningful life.
The first evening, 'Becoming Conscious', on Wednesday 9th of September will be similar to his previous event in January this year and explore the journey towards greater self awareness and personal transformation.
Drawing on decades of professional experience, Brendan will share insights from his own development as a doctor, psychotherapist and Jungian practitioner, examining how increased awareness can become a pathway to growth and change.
The following evening, 'Becoming Conscious: Going Deeper', delves further into the ideas introduced in the first talk. Brendan will explore key Jungian concepts including the soul, anima and animus, the personal shadow and the group shadow, while also considering how Jungian psychology can sit alongside contemporary approaches to mental health.
While 'Going Deeper' builds on the first evening, it can also be attended as a standalone event, making both evenings accessible to those who may not have attended the first talk.
Originally trained as a doctor at University College Dublin and later qualifying as a surgeon through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Brendan went on to pursue Jungian analysis in the United States.
He became a founding member of the Canadian Association for Sandplay Therapy and a teaching member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy.
Across both evenings, Brendan brings a compassionate and reflective perspective to questions of consciousness, mental health and personal transformation, offering audiences an opportunity to pause, reflect and consider the deeper forces that influence our lives.
