Drank alcohol in supermarket
A Nenagh woman appeared in court after she opened a can of alcohol and drank from it in the local Aldi supermarket.
Nenagh District Court heard that Gemma Dunne (32) of Coille Bheithe entered the store on March 26 last and took and opened a sandwich wrap, which she did not pay for. She also took and opened a can of alcohol and drank from it. She then took a bottle of vodka and left without paying.
The court also heard how Ms Dunne had pushed a member of staff as she was leaving the store. She was remanded on continual bail to July 10 for a victim impact statement and for compensation of €40.
On the same day, March 26, Ms Dunne was found to be drink driving in Coille Bheithe. She was seen crossing over and back the centre line of the road. She returned a reading of 41mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
Judge Marie Keane disqualified Ms Dunne from driving for a period of one year and imposed a €100 fine. Ms Dunne was also convicted of driving without insurance on the same day and was disqualified for two years and fined €100. She was further convicted of careless driving and fined another €100.
