Woman had defective vehicle

A woman with 20 previous convictions avoided a driving disqualification at Nenagh District Court recently after gardaí found her driving a dangerously defective vehicle.

Judge Marie Keane warned Chloe Cremin (23) of Ceol na hAbhann, Gouldshill, Mallow, Co Cork that if she was to appear before her in court again for a road traffic offence, she would be disqualified from driving. Judge Keane said that Ms Cremin has “no regard for the safety of other people” due to her amount of road traffic convictions.

“This lady is amassing every kind of offence under the Road Traffic Act,” stated Judge Keane.

On November 30, 2023, a vehicle was observed along Friar Street in Nenagh and stopped by a member of an Garda Síochána, who was concerned about the tyres and flashing lights on the dashboard of the vehicle.

The vehicle was later declared defective and dangerous after examination after it was seized by gardaí.

Ms Cremin came before Nenagh District Court with 20 previous convictions, among them convictions for non-display of insurance, no insurance, hit and run and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Ms Cremin was convicted and fined a total of €400 but Judge Keane did not disqualify her from driving.
