Man arrested for his own safety
Nenagh District Court heard on April 24 how a man had to be arrested for his own safety by an Garda Síochána.
Darius Przybylski (56) of Ormond Drive, Nenagh was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place on two separate occasions.
On April 16 last, Mr Przybylski was highly intoxicated on Kenyon St when he was asked to leave an area by members of an Garda Síochána. Due to his level of intoxication, and his refusal to leave the area, Mr Przybylski was arrested.
On April 9 last, gardaí noticed an intoxicated male, Mr Przybylski, on Ormond Drive in Nenagh. Mr Przybylski was unable to make his own way home and was arrested by gardaí for his own safety.
His solicitor, Johnny Spencer told the court that there were issues with alcohol in the background of this case, and that Mr Przybylski, who was on disability welfare payment, was concerned that a conviction would interfere with his application for housing.
Judge Fiona Brennan applied the Probation Act.
