Pike’s first half burst downs Nenagh

Pike Rovers 3-1 Nenagh AFC
Nenagh AFC fell to another defeat going down 3-1 to Pike Rovers at the Pike Field on Sunday.
The visitors were matching their opponents but disaster struck with six minutes remaining in the first half. A long delivery from Gary Neville saw Aaron Muphy open the scoring on forty minutes.
Two minutes later, Lee McGuire set up Leon Daly for a second and with Nenagh reeling, they conceded again just before the break when McGuire found the target again.
Daniel Connolly pulled one back for Nenagh after the break but try as they might they were unable to gain any more traction against a stubborn Pike defence.

Lower Leagues
Nenagh AFC ‘B’ picked up three points following a 3-2 win over Mungret Regional ‘B’ in Brickfields.
Dan Furey gave the home side an early lead after good work by Diarmuid Fitzpatrick.
Furey turned provider midway through the half when Kieran O'Brien doubled the advantage.
Mungret pulled one back but Sean Morrissey restored Nenagh’s two goal lead.
Mungret scored again but Nenagh held on to take the spoils.
In Division 3A, Lough Derg ‘B’ played out a 1-1 draw with leaders Murroe ‘C’. Cian Oakley was on the mark for Lough Derg.
Cadden Mudd was on the mark for Lough Derg’s youth side but they went down 2-1 to Lisnagry while in the all-Tipperary derby in the U17 Division 1, Lough Derg edged out Newport Town by the odd goal in five.
W Meehan and Conor Bailey netted for Newport. A Siedel double and one from Lawlor-Joyce sealed the points.
