Smiles all round at classic car treasure hunt
Nenagh event has become ‘annual family tradition’
The Nenagh Classic Car Club held its annual Classic Car Easter Egg Treasure Hunt on Sunday, March 22.
There was great excitement on Sunday afternoon as over 80 participants took to the roads with clues in hand in search of Easter eggs. The popular annual event has grown from strength to strength and has become quite a hit with both young and old. Participants of the event were given a map and their first clue once they registered at the Factory in Tyone - from there they had to figure out the first location where they had to go in search of a classic car.
Once they located the classic car a member of the Nenagh Classic Car Club was waiting there to meet them to stamp their treasure map, give them their next clue and reward them with an Easter egg. There were five secret locations in all to find and participants were rewarded with an Easter egg in each of them.
The event ended at Nenagh Railway Station where the Easter Egg Hunters received a unique Nenagh Classic Care Club goodie bag containing their final Easter egg. The event was totally free for all who entered and was run by the members of the Nenagh Classic Car Club.
This is the fourth year that the Nenagh Classic Car Club has hosted this event, which has turned into a great annual community event. One participant said: “This has now become an annual family tradition,” as she has taken part with her son and grandchild for the last four years.
It was great to see the excitement and smiles on the faces of all the children who took part in the event. There was a great sense of community spirit around the town and a great feel-good factor about the event, which brought great enjoyment to both young and old on Sunday afternoon.
The Nenagh Classic Car Club would like to thank all who took part in the Easter Egg hunt. They would also like to thank Tipperary County Council, who supported this annual event. A special thank you to the members of the Nenagh Classic Car Club for volunteering their time to run this free community event.
The Nenagh Classic Car Club hopes to see everyone back next year for the next Classic Car Easter Egg Treasure Hunt. If you wish to join or get involved in the Nenagh Classic Car Club, please contact Brendan Murphy - 085-1387114 or Declan Lee - 087-8531903.
