Draw was a decent result in the conditions - Darcy
Tipperary under 23 manager Bryan Darcy was relatively pleased with the point secured after coming from behind against Dublin in the opening round of the All-Ireland Championship on Sunday.
“We were playing against a very strong breeze in the first half and I thought we did relatively well, as in score wise, coming in seven points down which was probably acceptable enough for the conditions,” he said of the 1-7 to 0-3 deficit.
“In the second half we went at it a bit more and pulled it back, coming out with a draw, we wanted to win but that’s the way it goes.
“Dublin were very physical in both halves, and we able to run the ball in the second half, which helped them as well but in fairness to our girls they worked very hard, fought hard, tackled hard, and that’s all we can asked of them.
“We missed a couple of chances to win the game but that’s the way it goes and we move onto next week at home to Waterford. We played them a few weeks ago in the Munster semi-final, another physically strong team. We won’t take them for granted.
“It’s important to move on as quickly as possible because the games are coming week after week and we want to get a couple of wins on the board.”
