Daffodil Day success
As always the people of Roscrea and the surrounding areas came out and supported the Irish Cancer Society on Daffodil Day on Friday, March 20. The total money raised on the day was €12,236. The money raised throughout Ireland on daffodil day is vital to help the Irish Cancer Society to bring hope, provide support and drive progress in the battle against cancer in Ireland.
We would like to offer our thanks to - Dunnes Stores, Roscrea Shopping Centre, Tesco, Roscrea Post Office and the Mart Roscrea for allowing us to set up our tables on their premises and being so helpful.
We thank Brian Colclough and his staff for their great support this year bringing daffodil day to the local nursing homes in Roscrea, bringing fresh daffodils smiles and memories of spring days.
Thanks to everyone that brought fresh daffodils to the tables. Thanks to John and Kay Browne who allowed us to harvest their beautiful garden full of daffodils. Thanks to the family of Simon Meeney (RIP) grove street who so kindly allowed us to harvest their father’s beautiful flowers again this year. Thanks to Valerie Lewis Dunkerrin, Mary O’Connor, Roscrea and Geraldine Delaney, Roscrea for knitting and crocheting beautiful daffodils for us to sell. A huge thanks to all our loyal helpers on the day sitting at the tables and giving so generously of their time each year. Daffodil Day would be an impossible task without all of you. Finally thank you to PJ Wright for turning up each year with his camera to record the day for us.
Go raibh míle maíth agaibh.
