Celebrating Tree Week at Arts Centre

Nenagh Arts Centre will mark National Tree Week with the return of The Company of Trees on Thursday, March 12, at 7.30pm.

As part of the nationwide celebration of Ireland’s forests and natural heritage, A Celebration in Words and Music offers a powerful and immersive reflection on the role of trees in our cultural, emotional and environmental lives.

Through a rich blend of literature, music and song, the production invites audiences to reconnect with the forest world at a time when conversations around biodiversity and climate are more vital than ever. Drawing on poetry and prose by Seamus Heaney, Mary Oliver and John Muir, alongside music by Natalia Hatz, Colm Mac Con Iomaire and Ralph Vaughan Williams, the performance explores the deep-rooted presence of trees in art, memory and identity.

Performed by Michael James Ford, Sinéad Murphy and Darina Gallagher, with accompaniment from the Delmaine String Quartet, the evening also features striking photographic and video imagery by Brendan Keogh, including atmospheric drone footage of native Irish woodlands. National Tree Week serves as an annual reminder of the importance of protecting and celebrating Ireland’s trees - and this special performance at Nenagh Arts Centre offers audiences a unique opportunity to do just that through word, music and image.
