Tipp and Cork to clash on the double in Munster openers

Munster GAA is partnering with Munster Camogie and Munster Ladies Football once again this year to provide curtain-raisers for some of our Munster Senior Hurling & Football Championship games.

A total of 3 Senior Camogie curtain-raisers and 1 Senior Ladies Football curtain-raiser is planned, over the course of April and May (details below).

Speaking following confirmation of the curtain-raiser fixtures, Munster GAA Chairman Tim Murphy said “The inclusion of four curtain-raisers (3 Camogie / 1 Ladies Football) ahead of our Munster Senior Hurling and Football Championship games once again highlights the strong and growing partnership between our respective organisations. It is very pleasing to see this initiative continue into 2026, and we are committed to further strengthening the connection between our games in the years ahead.”

Munster Camogie Chairperson Christine Ryan said “Munster Council Camogie is delighted to once again work in partnership with Munster GAA to see three of the four Munster Senior Camogie Championship matches staged as curtain-raisers to the Munster Hurling Championship. Our players relish the opportunity to perform on Munster Championship matchdays, experiencing the unique atmosphere of packed stadiums. These occasions play a vital role in raising the profile of camogie and showcasing our game to an even wider audience.”

Munster LGFA President Lorraine Royle said “Munster Ladies Football is thrilled to again be included as part of Munster GAA’s curtain raiser for the upcoming Munster Football Championship. This continued partnership is an important acknowledgement of the talent, commitment, and growing profile of our players. We are particularly pleased that our round 3 clash - Kerry v Cork, will feature as a showcase fixture ahead of the Munster Football Final. We sincerely thank Munster GAA for their ongoing support and collaboration in promoting and elevating ladies’ football across the province.”
