Night hours for Nenagh gaming centre
A company with planning permission to open a gaming centre in Nenagh has been given the go-ahead for nighttime hours of operation.
Coalquay Leisure Ltd received permission last year to change the use of an existing commercial shop unit (formerly Quik Pick) on Silver St to a gaming centre on the ground floor. Tipperary Co Council imposed a number of conditions, including a stipulation that the opening hours of the centre be restricted to 9am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday.
Coalquay submitted another application in which it informed the council that such a restriction would make its Nenagh plan “unviable”. It sought to have this condition amended to “10am to midnight daily”.
Noting the presence of public houses in the vicinity and the opening hours for public houses, the council considered that a closing time of 11pm would be more appropriate in this instance. Permission was granted with opening hours restricted to 10am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday.
