Senior Hurling

Well done to the Senior Hurlers who produced an impressive display last Sunday in Glenisk O’Connor Park Tullamore overcoming Offaly 5-24 to 1-18. See match report.

The hurlers’ next game takes place this Saturday, 7th February at 7.30pm when they make the trip to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh to face Cork. At the time of going to print only terrace tickets were available for the game and these can be purchased on Ticketmaster or at participating SuperValu or Centra stores. The game will also be broadcast live on RTÉ2.

Senior Football

Well done to the Senior footballers who recorded a 1-13 to 1-9 victory over Antrim last Sunday in Moneygall. See match report.

The game had originally been fixed for FBD Semple Stadium, but with the pitch deemed unplayable, sincere thanks go to the Moneygall club for hosting the fixture.

The Footballers have a break in action this weekend with their next game scheduled for Sunday, 15th February against Carlow in FBD Semple Stadium at 2.00pm.

Tickets for Allianz League Games

Supporters are reminded that tickets for all Allianz League games must be purchased online or in selected Centra and SuperValu stores, as tickets will not be on sale at match venues. Please note that Tap & Go will not be in operation at any venue, and in line with GAA policy for all competitions, no cash will be accepted at the turnstiles.

Post Primary Schools

Congratulations to Nenagh CBS who claimed their second ever Dr. Harty Cup title after an exciting 0-20 to 0-18 victory over St. Flannan’s last Saturday in Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg, Ennis. See match report.

It is a fantastic achievement for Tipperary to have produced the last four Dr. Harty Cup winners: Cashel Community School in 2023, Thurles CBS last year and Nenagh CBS claiming the title in 2024 and again this year. Well done to all schools across the county for the tremendous work being put in across hurling and football.

Congratulations to St. Joseph’s College Borrisoleigh who claimed the TUS Corn Risteard Uí Mhathúna - Munster Under 19 ‘C’ Hurling title last Friday in Fethard after a thrilling 2-18 to 1-20 victory over a gallant Dungarvan CBS side. Best of luck to CBS High School Clonmel footballers as they take on Tralee CBS this Saturday, 7th February at 1.30pm in Mallow in the TUS Corn Uí Mhuirí Munster Senior ‘A’ Football Final.

The High School have one Corn Uí Mhuirí title to their name having won it in 1928 and will be hoping to end a 98 year wait this Saturday. Their only final appearance since then came in 2016, when they were defeated by a David Clifford led St Brendan’s, Killarney side that went on to comfortably claim the Hogan Cup All Ireland title.

The Abbey School, Tipperary Town footballers won't be out until next week as they face Mount Saint Michael Rosscarbery on Friday, 13th February in the final of the TUS Corn Dhonncha Uí Nuanáin Munster U19 ‘B’ Football Championship.

Colleges

The Fitzgibbon and Sigerson Cups are reaching the business end, with the Quarter Finals taking place last Wednesday, 28th January.

Nenagh Éire Óg’s Sam O’Farrell led the scoring for the University of Galway, finishing with 0-11 (7f) in their 1-21 to 1-14 victory over SETU Waterford. Paddy Phelan (Upperchurch/Drombane) and Éanna Guilfoyle (Moyne-Templetuohy) lined out for the Waterford side.

University of Limerick recorded a 0-20 to 0-12 win over UCC. Darragh McCarthy top scored with 0-9 (7f) for UL, with Aaron Morgan (Kilruane MacDonaghs) and Oisín O’Donoghue (Cashel King Cormacs) also named in the starting fifteen. Peter McGarry (St Mary’s) and Darragh Stakelum (Thurles Sarsfields) lined out for UCC.

Mary Immaculate College Limerick enjoyed a comfortable 3-22 to 0-13 victory over UCD. Adam Daly (Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams) scored three points for the winners, while Eoin Craddock (Holycross/Ballycahill) also chipped in with a point. Ben Currivan (Golden Kilfeacle) made an appearance off the bench for the Limerick side.

Both semi-finals take place this Wednesday, 4th February - UL host the University of Galway at 8.00pm while Mary Immaculate College take on DCU, who recorded a 4-13 to 2-15 quarter final victory over MTU Cork. This game will take place in DCU at 6.00pm.

In the Sigerson Cup, David Power’s University of Limerick side claimed a 3-16 to 0-17 extra time victory over Maynooth University in their quarter final. Daithí Hogan (St Patrick’s) finished with 1-1, while Charlie King (Ballina), Micheál Freaney (Kilsheelan/Kilcash) and Killian Butler (Moyle Rovers) all registered points.

The remaining quarter final results were as follows: University of Galway 0-15 UCD 0-14, UCC 3-16 DCU 1-20; Queen’s University Belfast 3-18 TU Dublin 2-16.

The semi-final fixtures were not finalised by the time of going to print.

Coaching & Games Development

Tipperary Coaching & Games Development will host a Warm-Up and Speed Development Workshop on Saturday, 21st February, at 10.00am in Rockwell Rovers GAA Club.

Munster Junior ‘B’ Championship

Hard luck to Golden Kilfeacle who were defeated in the Munster Junior ‘B’ Football Championship quarter final by Clooney Quin (Clare) last Sunday in Knockaderry, Limerick.

Silvermines will compete in the Munster Junior ‘B’ Hurling Final this Saturday, 7th February against Ballybrown of Limerick in Killeedy (Limerick) at 3.00pm throw. Best of luck to ‘The Mines.

Tipperary Supporters Club Night at the Dogs

The Tipperary Supporters Club will host a Night at the Dogs on Saturday, February 21st at Thurles Greyhound Stadium, with the first of 10 races off at 7.30pm.

Tickets are €20 for adults, with children free, and include a race card, free raffle and autograph signing by 2025 All-Ireland winning players. 2026 Tipperary Club Season Pass

The 2026 Tipperary GAA club season pass is on sale and can be purchased via the events section of the Tipperary GAA App. The pass which will entitle the holder entry into all adult divisional and county games at adult level will cost €170.

Sympathy

Tipperary GAA wish to express their sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Jonathan Whyte (Surrey, England, and formerly of Drangan). Jonathan began his playing career with his local club, St. Patrick’s, and represented Tipperary at Minor level in 1972 and 1973, at U21 in 1973 and 1974, and at Senior Football level in 1974, before emigrating to London. He was very active within the London Tipperary community, serving as Chairman of the London Tipperary Association, and was a passionate supporter of both the Tipperary Senior Hurling & Football teams. May he rest in peace.
