Free online session supports solo women

Willow, the community created for women navigating life solo, is hosting a free live online session later this month focused on confidence, clarity, and practical self-support.

On January 21, Willow will welcome Deirdre Treanor, The Confidence and Style CEO, for an online session titled ‘Using 1% of your day with intention’. The session explores how intentionally using just 14 minutes and 24 seconds a day can help women feel more grounded, confident, and clear, without pressure or unrealistic expectations.

Willow was created specifically for women who are living solo, by chance or by choice. Many solo women describe feeling overlooked by traditional advice and communities that assume couple-based lives or revolve around milestones such as marriage or starting a family. Willow’s approach is to embrace the solo lifestyle and help solve the challenges solo women face, including loneliness, stigma, lack of information written for solo people and the ‘single tax’ (such as the higher cost of living solo).

The ‘Using 1% of your day with intention’ event reflects that ethos. Rather than encouraging reinvention or major lifestyle change, it focuses on small, sustainable actions that fit into everyday life. Deirdre Treanor will share practical guidance on how intentional use of a short amount of time each day can support confidence, self-belief, and direction.

“This session reflects what Willow is about,” says Willow founder Imelda McAloon. “Solo women are often surrounded by messaging that suggests they are behind or need to change their lives to be ‘on track’. Willow exists to challenge that. We focus on support that respects solo life as it is, and tools that actually work within busy, real lives.”

Deirdre Treanor adds: “So many women feel pressure to do more or be more, when what they really need is space to reconnect with themselves. This session is about showing that even a small, intentional pause each day can help build confidence and clarity, without adding another thing to your to-do list.”

The session is free to attend and will take place live online on January 21. Register at mywillow.ie/events/
