Cystic fibrosis art project in Nenagh

Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Art Project, an exhibition by local man Dominic Murphy, runs from January 12 to 30 at Nenagh Arts Centre.

Dominic has lived with cystic fibrosis for more than 40 years. He has spent many of those years campaigning for a greater level of service for people with the disease, and trying to raise a greater level of awareness about CF.

In this exhibition, Dominic’s evocative works blend pastels and pencils to offer a personal insight into the daily life of someone with CF. Through his sensitive use of mixed media, Dominic seeks to raise awareness, foster understanding, and celebrate the resilience found in navigating a complex health journey.

In contrast to this, Dominic is also showcasing a more light-hearted, imaginative side to his work; his ability to find joy and escapism through creative expression.

This free exhibition will be formally launched on Thursday, January 15, at 6pm.
