Speeding on Nenagh street

Local councillor Louise Morgan Walsh has called on Tipperary Co Council to take action over speeding at Summerhill, Nenagh.

She told a meeting of the council’s Nenagh Municipal District that she fears someone will be killed on the street. Cllr Morgan Walsh pointed out that Summerhill is busy with traffic, residents and schoolchildren.

District Engineer Barry Murphy agreed that the situation needs to be dealt with and said the council is looking at traffic and parking on Summerhill.

Senior Executive Engineer Kieran Malone mentioned that a speed limit review is coming up but that anything the council introduces would have to be enforced by gardaí.
