Denis Hogan saddled four runners for the 12-furlong claiming race at Dundalk on Wednesday and he landed the spoils with the Joey Sheridan-ridden seven-year-old Benevente.
In the colours of owner James McAuley, the 9/2 chance led inside the final furlong to beat Gerry Keane’s Theophilos by half a length with Hogan’s 5/4 favourite Porsche Lad and Colin Keane a head away in third place. The runner-up was subsequently claimed by James McAuley and now joins the Hogan stable.

It was the third 50/1 winner in two meetings at Dundalk during the week.
