HSE Mid West Statement

Visitor restrictions at UHL, Nenagh, Ennis, Croom Orthopaedic and St John’s Hospitals

- Risk of infection spread from high numbers of patients with flu

- One visitor per patient admitted, during visiting hours only

- Do not visit hospital if you have flu/cold symptoms

Wednesday 10th December, 2025 ¦ Visitor restrictions are in place at University Hospital Limerick, Nenagh Hospital, Ennis Hospital, St John’s Hospital, and Croom Orthopaedic Hospital, due to the rising numbers of patients with flu and other respiratory conditions.

Only one visitor per person will be admitted, and only during hospital visiting times: 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm for all five hospitals.

Visitors are asked to wear a face mask, and these are available at the reception areas of the hospitals.

Please do not visit the hospitals if you have any symptoms of cold, flu, COVID-19 or any viral illness.

We regret the impact of these restrictions on patients and their loved ones, but the decision is necessary to ensure the safe running of the hospitals.
