Nenagh miss chance to ease relegation worries

Regional United 2-1 Nenagh AFC
Nenagh AFC remain mired in the danger zone after going down 2-1 to Regional United in Dooradoyle on Sunday.
The home side took an early lead through Muhsin Jelle and made it 2-0 before the break through Tom Frawley.
Nenagh did improve after the break but all they could muster was Dan O'Meara goal so ended the game pointless.
They maintain a one-point lead over Corbally United but have now played an extra game.

LOWER LEAGUES
The thrilling Premier ‘A’ League promotion race continues apace with three sides, Star Rovers, Moyross United and Kilmallock sharing the lead on 23 points.
Just three points back are Newport Town who have games in hand on all three. On Sunday, Newport eased past Prospect Priory 7-1. Conor Brett (2), Craig O'Connell (2), Christy Doyle, Eoin Looney and Christy O'Connor were on the mark for the Mulcair men.
The promotion race in Division 1B is also heating up. Leaders Pike Rovers won to go joint top with Ballynanty. Just three points behind are Nenagh AFC ‘B’ who kept pace with the leaders with a 4-2 home win over Kilmallock. Nenagh were awesome in the opening 45 minutes and led 4-0 at the break through goals from Darragh McDonnell, Dylan Kennedy, Casey Finn and Dan Furey. The visitors came back after the break with a couple of goals but the home side had done enough to secure the points.
In the same division, Colin Coleman netted for times for Newport Town ‘B’ in a 6-1 win over Patrickswell. Cillian O’Sullivan and Aaron O’Neill also scored for the winners with Paul O’Brien replying for ‘Well.
In Division 2A, Charlie Grace, David Cassidy and Daniel Fogarty scored for Lough Derg in a 3-1 win over Aisling Annacotty ‘C’ while Lough Derg ‘B’ were equally impressive beating Ballynanty Rovers ‘C’ 6-0 courtesy of David Coughlan 2, Cian Oakley 2, Martin Burke and Noel McLeish.
In Under 17, O Siedel hit a double for Lough Derg but they went down 6-2 to Pike Rovers while Newport Town shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Regional United. William Meehan netted for the Tipperary side. Lough Derg’s B side, despite goals from M Jugowiec and F Conan Murphy fell 4-2 to Kilfrush.
