Christmas tree on Ballina bridge

On Friday last the lights were switched on for the very first time on the new pedestrianised bridge, turning the Shannon into a sparkling backdrop for this inaugural celebration.

Families, neighbours and friends gathered under the giant tree, with hot chocolate, mince pies, music and plenty of excited little helpers, including some very proud junior ‘gardaí’, and a visit from Mickey and Minnie in their Christmas best.

Note that the annual Killaloe Christmas Fair will be held in Killaloe Ballina Community and Family Resource Centre on Sunday, December 7, from 12 noon to 5pm. A great event is guaranteed!
