Drugs, cash and firearm seized in Nenagh
Gardaí seized more than €17,000 worth of drugs as well as a suspected modified firearm in separate searches in Nenagh last week.
Members of the Divisional Drugs Unit were involved in a number of searches, including one last Wednesday in which suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €17,000 was seized, along with a quantity of cash. One male was arrested and he appeared before Nenagh District Court on Thursday, where he was remanded in custody.
Another search took place in the Nenagh area on Thursday where a suspected modified firearm was seized along with a round of ammunition and a small amount of suspected drugs. One male was arrested under the Offences Against the State Act and questioned at Nenagh Garda Station. He was subsequently released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Members of the Divisional Drugs Unit were involved in another search of a house in Nenagh last Sunday. Suspected cannabis seeds valued at €350 were seized. A file for the DPP is also being prepared on this matter.
