Hilarious comedy for Lissenhall
Lissenhall Players’ annual production, the uproarious Don’t Tell the Wife will open in Lissenhall Hall on Friday, November 28, and run for five nights.
In this three-act comedy, we will meet unlucky plumber Bobby Willis, played by newcomer to Lissenhall Players Robbie Glennon and his wife Edna, Reanne O’Dwyer, also threading the Lissenhall stage for the first time.
Bobby is about to turn 50 – a dangerous age for a man! Why is he starting to take vitamin pills? Has it anything to do with an English lodger, Georgette, played by regular Debbie Finn, who finds Irishmen ridiculously attractive?
Add a love-torn plumber’s apprentice, Cyril, played by Sean Butler, who is no stranger to the stage; whose new girlfriend, Hilda, played by Breda Boland, making a welcome return to Lissenhall players this year, gets hives if excited; a nosey neighbour, Isobel, played by newcomer Olivia Gaines; a male escort, Basil, played by regular Maurice Daffy, and a corporation official, Eric, played by Willie Lennox, an experienced actor but newcomer to Lissenhall - to the mix and things get complicated very quickly.
Misunderstandings abound as a cast of colourful characters and plot twists make for a great night of hilarious comedy.
Play begins each night at 8pm sharp with doors open at 7.30pm. This year’s performance will again be directed by Kevin Whelan.
