Delightful evening in Roscrea

Sold-out Black Mills Session

Roscrea Heritage Society would like to say a huge thank you to Carmel Minogue, who gave a fantastic performance recently for October’s sold-out Black Mills Session! Carmel, a talented multi-instrumentalist, delighted the audience with a wonderful selection of well-known songs that took everyone on a magical trip down memory lane. The society would like to extend sincere thanks to the OPW for the use of the stunning venue, and to Bernadette for all her help on the night.

Thanks also to PJ Wright for capturing some great shots! And of course, a huge thank you to all who attended, your support is greatly appreciated. Nights like these simply wouldn’t be possible without you!

Save the Date: Friday, November 28 - the society is delighted to announce that Tommy McDonald and Jimmy Quinlan will perform for the finale of the Black Mills Sessions 2025.

Tommy and Jimmy have been playing music for many years, becoming good friends through their shared love of music and song. In the late ’80s and ’90s, they played the pub scene as a duo before going their separate ways. Jimmy went on to play with various groups and currently performs with Outa Diesel. Tommy continued solo, playing pub gigs and church weddings, and now enjoys taking part in sessions and charity gigs.

On the night, you can look forward to hearing classics from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Rod Stewart, The Eagles, John Denver, Stockton’s Wing, The Fureys, Jimmy McCarthy, Charlie McGettigan and many more!
