Nenagh to host dementia awareness workshops
Raising awareness of dementia is a key mission for the Friends of ASI Nenagh. Since the start of the year, the group has successfully hosted six dementia awareness workshops, reaching over 60 individuals from local businesses, sports clubs, and community organisations.
Their commitment and passion have helped inspire a more compassionate, informed, and dementia-inclusive community here in Nenagh.
The organisations that have participated include Nenagh Chamber of Commerce, Nenagh Credit Union, Nenagh Library, North Tipperary Development Company, Áras Mhuire Nursing Home, AIB Nenagh, Revenue Commissioners Nenagh, An Garda Síochána, Nenagh; Nenagh Walking Club, Silver Arch Family Resource Centre, HSE, Nenagh Manor Nursing Home, Nenagh Arts Centre, Nenagh Tourist Office, MABS Nenagh, Nenagh Day Centre, Tipperary County Council, Newport Community Centre, Development Association Newport Clg and Kelly's Chemist.
Participants proudly display the ‘Friends of ASI Dementia Inclusive Community’ sticker - a visible sign of support, understanding, and inclusion for people living with dementia. Be sure to look out for these stickers around town and know that these businesses and groups are making a real difference.
