Nenagh business to celebrate 40th anniversary

A major milestone will be marked in Nenagh this month when BREO Jewellers celebrate 40 years in business.

Customer loyalty has been central to the BREO success story over the years and, by way of acknowledgment, the Nenagh family business are holding a customer appreciation evening on Friday, November 14, to which all are welcome. There will be lots going on as the Fitzgibbon family celebrates with the ‘40 Thank-Yous Giveaway’, where customers can enter a ticket draw with 40 marvellous prizes to be won across the BREO range of jewellery, watches and giftware.

There will be a 20% discount on all stock on the evening, as well as a 40% discount on selected diamond rings. What’s more, anyone who spends €400 or more on the customer appreciation evening will be given a €40 gift voucher.

RUBY REFLECTIONS

The date of the evening – November 14 – was chosen because this was the exact date when Breda Fitzgibbon opened her first jewellery shop on Silver St in 1985. Much has changed in the time since, most notably the amalgamation of Breda’s shop with that of her son Eoin in their new premises on the corner of Market Cross eight years ago.

Eoin had been running his own jewellery store at Quintin’s Way since 2005 – he is also celebrating this year the significant achievement of two decades in business. Eoin’s shop was called BREO, it being an acronym of his name and that of his brother Brian, who helped out at the shop from time to time.

‘BREO’ is also a nod to the Irish word meaning ‘glow’. It is a fitting name for a jewellery store and one that Breda and Eoin decided to keep when they opened their bright and spacious shop at a focal point in the town centre. With its wonderful array of display cabinets and the addition of a private viewing room, the launch of the new BREO premises has proven a resounding success.

TRIBUTE TO CUSTOMERS AND STAFF

Having come through times of prosperity and recession, Breda has seen a great deal of change over the years. But she says her core values have remained the same since Day 1, as has her passion for the jewellery business.

She delights in seeing that passion and enthusiasm reflected in her family and her staff, who take great pride in being part of the BREO story. Breda and Eoin both took the opportunity to express their appreciation to all the staff – past and present – that have worked with them over the years. They look forward to welcoming back some previous staff members to join in the upcoming anniversary celebration.

Special thanks, of course, to all the BREO customers, many of whom have been part of the story themselves since 1985. Many new friendships have been built up over the years, often involving young people who come to buy a piece of crystal and subsequently return in search of an engagement ring and wedding ring. Customers come from all over the Nenagh area and much further afield, and the Fitzgibbons love see them coming back time after time to a Nenagh store that has become nationally renowned for its top range of jewellery, watches and giftware, and also its repair and engraving service.

CELEBRATION

Joining in the celebration on November 14 will Breda’s husband Michael, whom she describes as the “backbone” behind the scenes of BREO, and Brian, who still works in the shop at Christmas time and will be helping customers find the ideal gift again this coming festive season. There will be treats and bubbly on the appreciation evening to complement the special offers and add to sense of occasion.

So be sure to get down to BREO between 4pm and 8pm on November 14 and join in celebrating 40 years of this Nenagh success story.
