Meet the Artists in Clough’

MacDonagh Museum hosts event on Sunday

The public is warmly invited to an event to Meet the Artists - North Tipperary Artists Collective - on Sunday, November 2, from 2-4pm at Thomas MacDonagh Museum, Cloughjordan, E50 R490. Join us at the Thomas MacDonagh Museum for a special Meet the Artists event with members of the North Tipperary Artists Collective (NTAC), whose exhibition ‘Political Theatre: Creative Responses’ is currently on view until November 7.

This exhibition forms part of this year’s Thomas MacDonagh Hedge School, which marks the 110th anniversary of O’Donovan Rossa’s funeral under the theme ‘Political Theatre - Learning from the Past’.

For their second collaboration with the museum, NTAC artists were invited to create new works inspired by this theme. Drawing on historical materials - including footage of O’Donovan Rossa’s funeral, Pearse’s iconic oration, Thomas MacDonagh’s play ‘When The Dawn Will Come’, and the documentary ‘Rebel Wife’ by Williams Rossa Cole - each artist developed a unique and personal creative response.

The result is a rich and diverse collection of contemporary artworks that reflect deeply on Ireland’s political and cultural legacy.

Sunday’s Meet the Artists event offers visitors the opportunity to view the exhibition, hear directly from the artists about their inspiration and process, and celebrate the conclusion of this powerful collaborative project.

Don’t miss this chance to experience the artworks and the stories behind them.
