Drugs seizure in Roscrea and attempted burglaries in Ballingarry

A SIGNIFICANT seizure of suspected drugs occurred in Roscrea on Friday week last.

Members of the Garda Divisional Drugs Unit discovered a substantial quantity of what they suspect is cocaine with an estimated street value of €90,000.

Analysis of the substance is being carried out and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

Elsewhere, an investigation into two attempted burglaries of houses in the Ballingarry area is underway.

One house in the townland of Ballymona was targeted on Friday week last, sometime between 8pm and 9pm. In the other house a back window was broken in the property sometime between last Friday and Monday. Nothing was stolen but gardaí believe burglary was the intent at both properties.

Gardaí are also investigating thefts from three vehicles in Ballygraigue Court in Nenagh on Sunday last. Two vehicles were stolen in the estate. One was later recovered on the Limerick Road in the town and the other in Dundrum in mid-Tipperary. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information.
