Junior 'B' Hurling Championship: The Watch Centre North Junior 'B' Hurling Championship for 2025 reaches its climax this Sunday in Toomevara, where two recent champions collide. Holders Silvermines face 2023 winners Knockshegowna in a final that promises to be fiercely contested. Both sides met already in the group stages with Silvermines winning 2-15 to 1-7 after an impressive second half performance from the victors. Action throws in at 2.00pm this Sunday with Tommy Hogan officiating.

Junior 'C' Hurling Championship: The group stages of the North Junior ‘C’ Hurling Championship concluded last weekend, with Shannon Rovers, Ballina, and Silvermines all recording strong victories.

In Group 1, Shannon Rovers overcame Nenagh Éire Óg 2-20 to 3-11. Rovers led 1-11 to 1-9 at half time and they kept the scoreboard ticking over to secure a six-point win.

Group 2 saw Ballina power past Moneygall 3-21 to 0-10. Leading 1-11 to 0-9 at the break, Ballina turned on the style in the second half, restricting Moneygall to just a single point while adding 2-10 themselves in a dominant display.

In Group 3, Silvermines proved far too strong for Newport, running out 7-15 to 1-15 winners. They hit six goals in the opening half, racing into a commanding 6-8 to 1-9 interval lead. Sean Quinlan was central to their early scoring spree, while Ronan Clifford and Sean Spillane added further points in the second period. Newport battled gamely after the restart, but Silvermines’ advantage was unassailable as they sealed an emphatic 18-point victory.

The quarter finals take place this Sunday, 5th October - Ballinahinch meet Lorrha in Shalee at 12 noon, while Borris-Ileigh face Shannon Rovers in Borrisoleigh at 12 noon. In both games, result on the day will apply.

Both Ballina and Silvermines qualified directly for the semi-finals, having recorded the highest scores ‘for’ in the group stages. They will have home advantage in their semi-finals. Ballinahinch, who finished third on score ‘for’, also have home advantage in their quarter final.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Sunday, 12th October at 12 noon, with the Final fixed for Saturday, 18th October at 3.00pm. Venue for the final will be confirmed in due course.

Under 17: Well done to Newport who had a 3-21 to 2-14 victory over Cashel King Cormacs last Sunday in the County 'A' Hurling semi-final - they will face Durlas Og this Saturday at 4.00pm in Dundrum in the Final - best of luck.

Under 15: Congratulations to Burgess who claimed the North Under 15 'B' Hurling title last Saturday in Roscrea after a 1-15 to 1-7 victory over Lorrha Rovers.
