Guest rooms for Borrisokane pub

Tipperary Co Council has granted planning permission for six guest rooms at Tess Burkes premises on Main Street, Borrisokane.

An application in the name of Sean Hobbs sought permission to change the use of the existing first floor from undeveloped space/storage to use as six en-suite guest rooms. An associated new stairway to ground floor, associated alterations to the ground floor pub, and associated alterations to existing building and site layout, also form part of the plan.

The application furthermore sought retention permission for an existing timber roof structure to the external area at the rear and south side of the existing premises.

The council granted planning subject to a number of conditions, including a stipulation that the permitted first floor accommodation be used for short-term holiday accommodation only, and not for permanent residential accommodation purposes.

Development of a shed-type structure to the rear of an existing stone outbuilding and carparking at the rear of the site were expressly omitted from this grant of planning permission.
