Back to school and back on the water

Lough Derg Yacht Club (LDYC) in Dromineer is once again welcoming students to its lively school sailing programme.

The club’s fleet of Laser Pico dinghies are ready to be rigged and launched. These small boats, equipped with a mainsail and jib, are perfect for beginners — durable, safe, and designed with built-in buoyancy.

The new intake begins this September, and schools interested in getting on the list or learning more are encouraged to email schoolsailing@ldyc.ie. Parents can also play a key role by asking their schools to get involved and give students the chance to discover the excitement of sailing through this unique programme.
