Water supply returning in Tipp townland

Water production has resumed at the Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant which supplies the Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply.

Water is being restored to 11,500 homes and businesses in South Tipperary who experienced outages following high turbidity levels at the plant.

The Water Treatment Plant is operating normally, however treated water reservoirs are empty as a result of the outage and will take time to refill.

Normal supply is expected to be restored to most customers by 9 am on Tuesday, 2 September. However, it may take several hours for the normal water supply to return as water refills the network and even longer for customers on high ground or at the end of the network.

Customers are being asked to be mindful of their water usage to allow supply to catch up with demand.

Alternative Water Supplies have been made available at Marlfield Village, Clerihan Village, Ardfinnan National School and Castle Carpark Cahir.

Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty said: “We appreciate the patience of affected residents and businesses as our teams worked to resolve the issue and restore normal service."
