Generous gift to Friends of Nenagh Hospital

The Friends of Nenagh Hospital have received a very generous gift from a Nenagh family that never forgot their town or people.

Ann Tobin with her daughters Rhianna and Emily came back to Nenagh and met with members of the Friends committee, Chairman Declan McGee, Angela Toohey, Pat Dunlea, Anne Ryan and Noreen Kennedy, and the Director of Nursing at Nenagh Hospital, Catherina Ryan, to make a very generous donation of €15,000 to the Friends of Nenagh Hospital.

The family of the late Peter Tobin (RIP), a native of Nenagh town and his wife Ann, ran a well-renowned jeweller’s on Pearse Street for many years. Peter sadly passed away in April 2024 following a short illness.

The donation was part of the proceeds of a very successful fundraising event organised and run by Ann and the girls. It was held in Ballina, Co Mayo, back in April to commemorate Peter’s first anniversary and his birthday.

We are very grateful to Ann, Rhianna and Emily for their generosity in memory of Peter and sympathise with them for their sad loss.
