Liam MacCarthy and Sam Maguire meet their Roses

The Liam MacCarthy and Sam Maguire Cups met with Roses with connections to the respective All-Ireland winning counties at a Rose of Tralee event held at the Barack Obama Plaza, Moneygall, last Tuesday week.

The Kerry Rose, Laura Daly, met with Sam Maguire and Kerry goalkeeper, Shane Ryan, while the Germany Rose, Sarah Ann Fritz, whose mother is from Tipperary, met with Liam MacCarthy and Moneygall native and Tipperary All-Ireland winner, Seanie Kenneally.

All 32 contestants for the Rose of Tralee crown met with well-wishers and GAA fans alike at an event organised by Pat and Una McDonagh at the Barack Obama Plaza. The Supermac's connection with the festival goes deeper as the restaurant chain are sponsoring this year’s New Zealand Rose - Ciara Jo Hanlon, who hails from Kilchreest, Co Galway. Like many students, Ciara Jo worked with Supermac's for several years while studying PE and Irish teaching at the University of Limerick.

Now living and teaching in Wellington, Supermac’s is always her first port of call whenever she’s home!
