Burst water main in Tipp
Uisce Éireann crews are continuing efforts to restore supply to customers in Carrick-on-Suir following a burst to a water main.
The burst is affecting water supply to customers in the Greenhills housing estate and the surrounding areas and has proven difficult to locate.
Crews are on site this afternoon working to locate and repair the leak to ensure that supply is restored as quickly as possible.
An alternative water supply remains available in the Greenhills housing estate and will be in place until supply is restored.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure, as per HSE advice.
Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience of an unplanned outages and we thank customers for their support while our crews work to repair the burst and restore normal supply.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
