The Watch Centre Junior 'A' Hurling Championship

continued last Friday.

Nenagh Eire Og had an impressive 1-20 to 2-11 victory over Kiladangan in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh.

A tightly contested first half saw both sides go in level at 1-6 apiece, with Aodhan O’Connor netting for Nenagh early on whilst Kiladangan's goal came just before half time through Diarmaid Fogarty. The game was finely balanced throughout, but Nenagh’s sharpness in attack and accuracy from placed balls began to tell in the second half.

Niall Madden proved instrumental for Nenagh, racking up nine points, including four frees and a ’65, while O’Connor chipped in with an impressive 1-3. Kiladangan added a second goal through Shane Gleeson early in the second half, but Nenagh outscored their opponents 0-10 to 0-4 thereafter.

Toomevara and Ballinahinch played out a 2-15 apiece draw in Puckane.

Toome looked in complete control at the break, leading 2-11 to 0-8 thanks in large part to a superb first-half display from Alan Ryan, who hit 2-3, supported by scores from Bob Delaney, Jack Doran, and Mikie Delaney.

However, Ballinahinch gave a much improved performance in the second half, chipping away at the lead before nudging ahead by a point with just minutes remaining. Late points from Mikey Brislane and Eoin Grace looked to have snatched victory for Toome, but Evan Kearns made no mistake from a free deep into injury time to level the scores.

The clash between Borris-Ileigh and Kilruane MacDonaghs was postponed.

Round 5 will take place this Friday, 18th July at 7.15pm - Toomevara face Nenagh Eire Og in Cloughjordan, Kiladangan and Roscrea meet in Borrisoleigh whilst Ballinahinch and Borris-Ileigh will play in Nenagh.

The Watch Centre Junior 'B' Hurling Championship

Group 1 commenced last Saturday with Knockshegowna defeated Ballina 1-16 to 0-15.

Leading 1-6 to 0-6 at the break, Knockshe managed to keep their noses in front throughout a fiercely contested second half. Ben King was outstanding for Ballina, hitting six points—most after being moved from wing to full forward, where he caused real problems. The game reached a dramatic climax when Ballina goalkeeper Martin McKeogh stepped up to take a penalty in the dying minutes, but his powerful effort cannoned off the post. Knockshe responded with a final point to put the result beyond doubt and secure a vital win. The second game in the group did not go ahead as Newport conceded to Silvermines.

In Group 2, Lorrha had a 1-15 to 2-10 victory over Kilruane MacDonaghs. The second game in the round did not go ahead as Roscrea have pulled out of the competition.

There was also one game in Group 3 as Burgess v Borrisokane was postponed. Portroe had a 0-18 to 0-12 victory over Kiladangan in Puckane.

The sides were level 0-6 each at half time with Kiladangan making a great start to the second half and held a two point lead before Portroe hit a purple patch - scoring nine points without reply with Kiladangan unable to reduce the lead thereafter. Kieran McKeogh was unerring from frees with Cormac Keating, Ian O'Donnell, and Eoin Maher impressive for the victors.
