Morgan and Tipp were fully primed for Galway

Tipperary defender Craig Morgan admitted Saturday’s All-Ireland quarter-final victory over Galway was comprehensive for a finish, but not as comfortable as the final scoreline suggests.
“I don’t think the scoreboard was a reflection of it,” said the Kilruane MacDonaghs clubman.
“Galway really put it up to us to the very end.
“It was a tough game, very physical.”
Morgan was part of the team that failed to fire against Galway at the same stage of the 2023 championship, and revealed that losing was not an option on this day.
“We were ready for today,” he admitted.
“From the minute the ball was thrown in, we were ready to go at it.
“When you look at the six backs we have, we have brave defenders, very encouraging, showing the character of the boys and epitomised the whole performance.”
Morgan was aware of Dublin’s shock win over Limerick, but it came as a surprise that it is Kilkenny, and not Cork, who they will play in the semi-final.
“I didn’t know that. It doesn’t matter,” he said.
“It’s just another game. We have to beat whoever is in front of us if we want to win.
“Any time you get to play at Croke Park is huge. We are going to take it one game at a time, as he have done all year. It’s just another game for us.”
