Kennedy not looking beyond Clare

By Joe Scully

Tipperary senior camogie captain Karen Kennedy was delighted with the win over Limerick, and feels the team are progressing well, particularly after the heavy opening round defeat to Cork.

“Every week, we want to get a performance and improve on things that we haven’t been happy with, so happy to get the win, which was the main thing coming down here today,” she began.

“We were very disappointed with our performance against Cork, we felt like we didn’t show what we’re capable of that day, and that was disappointing, especially after all the hard work we had put in all year, and to go out and not perform was really disappointing.

“So, the main focus was to go out and get a good performance as a team and show what we have been working on in training, and make sure we bring that to games.”

The Thurles Sarsfields star isn’t looking too far forward just yet and all focus is on the Clare game next Saturday where a win would confirm second place in the group and a quarter final against Kilkenny at Croke Park on the same bill as the senior hurling semi-final between the sides next month.

“We have Clare next weekend, and looking towards that for now. All our focus is in that game and then we can turn to the quarter finals, and whoever we will be facing in that,” she concluded.
