The Black Mills Sessions 2025

Roscrea Heritage Society was delighted to host Mairéad Cashen Slevin for May’s Black Mills Session.

Mairéad’s stunning vocals shone through when she performed a number of popular ballads such as Caledonia, Carrickfergus and Home to Donegal. Later in the night she literally raised the roof and brought the full audience to their feet with a powerful rendition of Ireland’s Call.

The society would like to thank Mairéad for a fantastic performance. Thanks also to the OPW for providing the venue and to Bernadette for her help on the night. Last but not least, huge thanks to all who attended on the night; your support is greatly appreciated.

Save the date. The next session will take place on Friday, June 27, when the society will host Johnny Keegan, Charly Ford and Liam Wright. This talented trio will play an eclectic mix of songs from artists such as Hank Williams and Leonard Cohen to Creedance Clearwater Revival and everything in between!
