Free dementia-awareness workshops in Nenagh Library

Raising awareness of dementia is a key focus for the Friends of ASI Nenagh, which is a voluntary group supported by the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Over the past three months, the group has organised four training workshops, equipping over 45 individuals from local businesses, sports clubs, and community groups with essential knowledge.

Their dedication and enthusiasm have fostered a remarkable commitment to building a supportive, empathetic, and inclusive community for people living with dementia - an effort that is both inspiring and impactful.

These organisations proudly display the ‘Friends of ASI Dementia Inclusive Community’ sticker - a symbol of support, inclusion, and understanding for people living with dementia.

Keep an eye out for these stickers and recognise the businesses and groups committed to creating a more inclusive community.

The next free dementia awareness workshops will take place on Tuesday, June 17. The key topics include:

· Understanding Dementia

· Understanding Communications

· Setting Up A Dementia Inclusive Community

There are two workshops to participate in: 10 - 11.30am or 12 noon - 1.30pm. The venue is Nenagh Library, O’Rahilly Street, Nenagh E45 AK50.
