Footpath works in Nenagh district

Tipperary Co Council will be continuing its programme of footpath improvement at several locations in Nenagh Municipal District over the coming months.

The May district meeting was informed of allocations for Hamilton Drive, Ballygraigue, Richmond, Yewston and the town centre of Nenagh itself. Footpath works are also planned for Borrisokane's Finnoe Road, along with Clonbealy in Newport, Kilcommon Cross, Burgess graveyard and Castlelough.

District Engineer Barry Murphy said the works would be funded through Irish Public Bodies and the council's development levies. An uncontrolled pedestrian crossing is also planned for Kilcommon to provide safer crossing to the GAA grounds there. At Finnoe Road, the council is planning drainage and surfacing works while also reducing the road width in a scheme that has a two-three-year timeframe.
